My dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

            Thanks for trying to step in & help folks who are facing hardship now-a-days. I wish I had more confidence that your plan will work. I’m especially skeptical of the idea to take $$ from FEMA to pay for unemployment benefits. It’s supposed to be an extremely active hurricane season. We’ve had 9 named storms already when we usually only have 2 by early August. FEMA is going to need every penny they’ve been appropriated & then some. Besides, the mechanism that you have chosen involves the states & they can’t get their acts together under the simpler plan, let alone the convoluted arrangement that Disaster Unemployment Assistance entails. I think we’d all be better off if you encouraged your buddy AMM to go back to the bargaining table & work something out with NPP & CES.

            I understand that you are headed over to the NJ shore this afternoon to do some more hob-nobbing. I’m sure you’ll be missing your buddy Stanley Cherra as you convene on his estate. Will Ivanka & Jared be joining you? Perhaps you will be stopping by Jared’s dad’s house in Long Branch before heading to Elberon Park. I was fascinated to learn that part of the Jeresy shore is a haven for Syrian Jews, with synagogues, yeshivas & real delis.

I have fond memories of trips to the Jersey Shore with my grandparents. My grandma would sit in her chair on the sand, fully dressed in stockings & shoes, while my grandpa would be in his Speedo swimming in the ocean with us. Our trips from Montclair were my first encounters with traffic which I found quite frustrating, which might explain why I have never commuted in a car.
