My dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
I love the new sidewalks in the Rose Garden & think it’s great that Melania took the lead in modernizing it. I hope you had lovely party there last night.
Family matters must be weighing on you. Family matters are weighing on me, too, but I won’t trouble you with that. You just had Robert’s funeral at the WH & then the news of your sister’s remarks hit the press last night. As I have mentioned before our siblings know us better than anyone & our rivalries for our parents’ affections can sometimes set us against each other. It sounds like you & Robert got past that. It’s too bad that some of that enmity remains with Maryanne. I hope you can repair your rift with her.
I’m afraid the USPS situation backfired on you & your buddy LD. According to Neil Steinberg, opining in today’s Chicago Suntimes, “Cutting overtime to save money is one of those small changes that do great harm; it’s like trying to cut military spending by eliminating ammunition.” Here’s my understanding of the situation: Just like everyone else mail carriers are catching CV & needing to take sick leave. Their colleagues have to take up the slack, otherwise there’s a backlog of mail that keeps getting worse & worse. It’s like the dishes in the sink, if you keep letting a backlog build up, you eventually reach a crisis point.
The Kansas City Star, “Most rural residents interviewed in Kansas and Missouri voiced support for financial aid to the Postal Service.” I hope you will provide it and let the mail carriers work overtime so we can all get our mail in a timely fashion.
HYITL,
