DJT,
Can you say HOT? We have a passive solar house so at this time of year, the sun does not shine directly into it. That’s a blessing, but the lack of AC means that 4:00 – 7:00 can be challenging. We’ve got a room that stays cooler than the outside air, but when the outside air is 110, that’s not saying much. I shouldn’t complain, though. In So. Cal they are having rolling power outages & the folks in Cedar Rapids have really been suffering ever since that derecho hit last week.
I hope your trip to the Midwest today goes well. What do you think about the rematch of MN 1st Congressional Dist. Rep. Jim Hagedorn (JLH) & Iraq war vet, Dan Feehan. It’s too bad that JLH had to fire his chief of staff yesterday. Isn’t it surprising when the GOP has trouble managing funds as I equate you, all, with business? Aren’t businessmen supposed to be good at managing funds? By the way, please ask JLH if the soil in Blue Earth is really blue. I found out from the USDA site that coprogenous earth is “poorly drained” (ie: not great for crops), but they did not mention what color it was.
I’m sure you will be warmly welcomed in Oshkosh, although there’s an ad campaign in WI right now telling the citizens that your visit is a “political stunt” and that they should “Connect the Dots” to recognize that your visit to Tulsa led to a CV outbreak. The ad closes by telling folks that your visit is putting them at risk. I’m sure that’s not your intention, but if you wear a mask & use Dr. Brix’s admonishment, “Don’t be cavalier about CV,” then folks in the Badger State might be convinced that you are taking CV seriously.
I have 2 requests for you today.
1) Stop pressuring schools to open. A teacher from Houston opined in the NYT today, “If we force teachers to return to schools at their own peril, I don’t know how many will stick around.” We’ve already got a shortage. Let’s not make it worse.
2) Send some help to Cedar Rapids. Better yet stop there today to check out the damage.
BYBS,
