My dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,          

            I understand that you are worried about the gun violence in places like Kansas City, Chicago & Albuquerque, but rather than send in the marshals to take over the city, why not expand AmeriCorps and send folks out of the city? Take armies of urban youth to the backcountry to clean up the woods, plant trees & build trails. They can avoid CV, get money in their pockets, build their muscles, bond with one another & develop an appreciation for nature. It’s a great way to use some of the $9.5 billion allocated in the Great American Outdoors Act. Constructing & fixing trails requires the brawn & energy which young folk have plenty of & provides a great sense of pride because the fruits of their labors are quite tangible. That was the idea behind the CCC & those young folk did some wonderful work including building a bunch of cabins & bridges in Marinette County, WI. I encourage you to use Goodman Park as the venue of your announcement should you decide to pursue this idea.

            In the meantime, I encourage you to be in touch with KC Mayor Quinton Lucas (QL) to get some clarity on what your federal police force are doing in KC where there is a state-controlled police board that oversees the work of the KC police department. QL says, “Something’s not squaring up” because WPB says Operation LeGend has yielded 200 arrests when others claim there’s only been 1. QL would love help with “studying ballistics on firearms & tracking illegal weapons across state lines,” but he doesn’t want your guys policing protests.

My daughter might be one of those protestors this weekend when it’s supposed to be sizzling in KC. I’d like to know she’s safe so make sure your guys stick to investigating cold cases.
