Friend, DJT,
It’s my husband’s birthday. He’s 61. I am happy to have him on the planet!
Did you hear about the strike at Bath Iron Works (BIW)? 4300 members of Local S6 aren’t fitting pipes today. They object to BIW’s hiring of subcontractors. BIW is already behind schedule in delivering on their contract with the Navy to deliver Arleigh Burke-class of guided-missile warships so the execs worry about their ability to get future contracts. Maybe it’s time to distribute the profits of the company differently so the workers get a cut. Then they might not strike. I would be fine with finding different jobs for all those workers so they don’t have to build warships, but that may not happen any time soon. Will you be helping to settle this strike?
I am excited that Audrey Strauss will now be leading the top prosecutor in the Southern District of New York. She sounds even more competent than her former boss. I don’t know why WPB wanted to change the leadership at SDNY, but even the WSJ says he botched it. All’s well that ends well – right?
Please don’t fret too much about the rally. I’m sure you will come up with some other way to connect with your fans.
HYITL,
