Friend, DJT,
I just saw the excellent news that the Supreme Court has given a reprieve to the Dreamers. I know some Dreamers who are teachers. They are amazing! I’m sure that Stephen Miller won’t be happy about this, but pay him no mind. Perhaps his heart has started to soften now that he’s married. I know that in your heart of hearts you’d like to let the Dreamers stay so perhaps you can just let that matter rest for the time being.
How did you feel about your announcement of the PREVENTS Task Force yesterday? It certainly was brave of Chet Hiser to share his experience as a suicidal vet. I can only imagine what it’s like to suffer from survivor’s guilt after watching 18 of your co-workers die. It must be even worse to live with the knowledge that you killed a man just because he wore a different uniform. I’m glad that Chet is getting the help he needs & I hope others like him get help, too.
It’s wonderful that the second lady is the “lead ambassador” of the effort. I love her HeART idea of using art to heal. I know that I find my nightly knitting therapeutic. Maybe you should give it a try.
Don’t fret too much about Bolton’s book. I took a glance in the NYT coverage of it & I’m not seeing anything new in it. It’s too bad that he doesn’t speak highly of you, but I would assume that you are used to that by now. Your campaign to keep the book off the shelves is just bringing more attention to it, so it might be best to just let that go.
How do you feel about Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley (CEG)? I’m impressed that he’s still going strong at age 86 & is doing all he can to “to champion inspectors general, whistleblowers and robust government accountability regardless of who occupies the White House.” We need to be on the lookout to “combat fraud, waste, abuse and misconduct” & we’re lucky to have someone like CEG around to keep everyone honest. I hope he stays healthy!
HYITL,
