DJT,
I’m trying not to dwell on the sad stories in LAT of the lives that have been cut short by CV. Today’s was about Lisa Agredano (50), who died on Dec 12. Hailey Bronson-Potts wrote about her with great affectionate having come to know her as her infant-care provider. Lisa had an infectious laugh & was finishing up a degree to work with deaf children. Please consider calling Manny, her teenaged son, to offer your condolences. I know that you can’t call all of the families of the 3,808 people who died of CV yesterday, but reaching out to one would show your compassion. It also might energize you to do what you can to ameliorate the problems with distributing the vaccine – speaking of which, did you read about the WI worker who deliberately left some out of the freezer spoiling 500 doses? What were they thinking?
Rather than ponder that, let’s focus on domes. According to the NYT, 2020 has been a great year for Buckminster’s Fuller’s invention which is being used by restaurants & bars to provide CV-safe seating. Folks in Chicago got excited before learning that a snow proof set-up for 20-degree temps won’t pay for itself. Mariah Carey is hosting a lodger on the NASDAC terrace overseeing the ball drop tonight in Times Square. The dome has a bed in it. Some lucky Airbnb customer reserved it for $21. What a great publicity stunt!
Speaking of such things, are you happy about JDH’s plans to challenge the integrity of the PA election during the ratification of the Electoral College vote on Jan 6? Ben Sasse believes this is a “dangerous ploy.” Isn’t it intriguing that these two 40-something Midwestern GOP Senators are vying for attention? JDH says he’s just trying to shed some light on problems with the election just like Barbara Boxer did back in 2005 when she objected to voter suppression in Ohio & challenged their Electoral College votes.
The year is over as is my space for this note,
BYBS,
