My dear Friend, DJT,

            I see that Melania will be joining you for your rally in Erie, PA, today. It’s great that she’s feeling better. Will she be speaking?

            I understand that you are “running angry AND running happy.” That’s strange. Most people cannot feel both of those emotions at the same time. That’s what makes you unique. You embody contradictions – forthright & devious, energetic & lazy, rich & bankrupt, positive & negative. I could go on. These contradictions disturb some & intrigue others. They amount to what the pundits call an “inconsistent messages” and that may not be the best way to attract undecided voters this year.

            Isn’t it great to see the electorate so engaged? We are going to have a record number of voters this year, thanks to all that’s going on. It’s the silver lining in this trying time. People are investing their time & $$ in this election. I have one friend who is convening Zoom meetings to raise funds for the Movement Voter Project which supports grassroots get-out-the-vote efforts in urban areas.  Another friend is calling Democrats in MI to make sure they vote. People will be more willing to pay their taxes & follow our laws if they vote, so isn’t it great that the Supreme Court didn’t interfere with PA’s law to count ballots post-marked on election day?

            The best thing about this election is that Black voters are energized! Folks in Milwaukee & Detroit are exercising their franchise. They cast 30% of the votes in NC when polling opened on Thursday. That’s up from 23% in 2016. They are turning out in GA in record numbers. Twice as many Black voters have participated in LA, than in the past. Democracy is at work in the USA. America IS great!
