My dear Friend and President, DJT,
How was your conference call with the rabbis yesterday? Did you express your sympathies for the shootings at the Tree of Life and Chabad synagogues this year? Did you speak with Rabbi Debra Newman Kamin, the president of the Rabbinical Assembly? I understand that she and many other rabbis have boycotted the call for the past couple of years, but decided to show respect for the office of the President by participating again. I hope she told you about her idea to take her organization of more than 1500 rabbis and make it smaller by connecting rabbis with similar situations with each other. Isn't that a wonderful way to use social media?
In my failed attempt to get info about your call with the rabbis Google took me to info about the tashlich ceremony which happens during Rosh Hashannah where folks go to a body and throw some bread in. The bread represents their sins which they cast off so they can start anew. I think we could both use that kind of cleansing. Why not head over to the Potomac with your grandkids and feed the fish while asking G-d to forgive you? You could join some other folks at a tashlich on Tuesday at Georgetown Waterfront park at 6:00. I encourage you to give it a try. It might make you feel better.
Best,
RCA
