 It's a beautiful day here in Middleton, WI, after some exciting thunder and lightning last night. The rain was music to my ears, and the fresh air this morning is a delight.

         I'm so sorry that you tweeted about your hurt feelings about Dayton's Mayor Nan Whaley's press conference after your visit to Miami Hospital yesterday. She just wants the world to know that she told you to "do something" when she had an audience with you. Help me understand how she was "misrepresenting what took place in the hospital." In any case, you can tell by looking at her that the mayor has been through the wringer and I think the people of Dayton have been, too. They don't have the energy to make you feel good about yourself right now. I know that they would find great consolation if you took action on gun control. I know I would.

         Please pay close attention at your intelligence briefing today. There's a lot going on in the world!
