My Dear Friend and President, DJT,
Another day, another rally. I hope you have fun in Richmond, KY today. Some of the faculty and students at Eastern Kentucky University where the rally will be held are not excited about your visit. Have you heard that they wrote a letter the president of the University and its Board of Regents stating their objections to having the rally on the campus? They noted that your campaign "attacks the values of inquiry, learning and free speech" and "silences and discredits opponents" rather than openly debate ideas. Maybe you can surprise them by complimenting them on their new LEED certified science building and their new robotic milking facility. Who knew you could milk a robot?
Some of the students worry that your visit will "further embolden those who support a message of hate and racism." We are having some difficulties with a misguided individual in our teacher education program who falls into that category. I won't go into the details here, but suffice it to say, I think he is under the false impression that he can intimidate people with his politics, and I doubt he would have done this two years ago. He's made some really bad choices and it's going to hurt him more than it hurts anyone else. I wish I could help him, but I don't know how.
I was surprised to hear that last night at your rally in Ohio you said, "one little mistake and they try to destroy your entire career." I interpreted that as an acknowledgement that Brett actually did something he shouldn't have. Is that what you meant?
I am impressed that you stood outside in the chilly rain for an hour at the rally. You are one tough cookie!
I've gotta go. We have a foster dog who keeps pestering me so I better give him some attention before he makes a mistake!
Best,
RCA
