My dear Friend and president, DJT,
I read your remarks from the speech you gave in the Rose Garden at 5:37 PM EST yesterday and I am left unsettled. Help me understand this statement, "Knowing this information is vital to formulating sound public policy, whether the issue is healthcare, education, civil rights, or immigration. We must have a reliable count of how many citizens, non-citizens, and illegal aliens are in our country." Are we going to start having some kind of hierarchy in this country? Aren't all people created equal? It was nice of Bill Barr to help you explain the legality of the citizenship question but it still did not help me understand why we need to discriminate when we think of how many people we have in our country. It seems like the first step toward having a registry and I find that creepy.
I hope you enjoy your visit to the Derco Aerospace plant today. Will Merillyn Hewson (MAH) be there to show off the inventory of 60,000 fixed wing airplane parts? It's nice of you to give Hewlett Packard some publicity. Was it part of the deal that you struck with MAH on Wed. when she agreed to keep that Sikorsky rotocraft plant open in PA? I'll bet Representative Chrissy Houlahan was happy to hear that news. Have you met her? She sounds like a dynamo! Stanford grad, Air Force officer, mother of 2, and now freshman congresswoman. I'd lik to meet her.
It's going to be a beautiful day in Wisco today. While you're in MKE you might ask the local about racial segregation in their city and the ways in which census mapping in the 1930s gave rise to redlined neighborhoods that continue to struggle today. That might help you to understand the dangers of misusing census data.
So often when I write these letters I am reminded of the fragility of our democracy. Please do your best to protect it!!!
Have a good trip,
RCA
PS - What a relief that RAA is stepping down!
