My dear Friend and President, DJT,
How was golf yesterday? Did you get a hole in one? I understand that you have had a few, including one in 1993 on the 12th hole of Pebble Beach at the Bing Crosby Pro Am Tournament. That must have been exciting!!! My sister-in-law wants to play at Pebble Beach but I understand that it's very hard to do so. She'll be spending the month of January living in the vicinity, hobnobbing with some of the members of the club hoping to get a tee time. She's charming and well connected so she just might be successful.
I will be near Pebble Beach in Asilomar for a math conference next weekend. We'll be telling the assembled math teachers about what kids did at fraction camp. It's going to be great!
I hope you work things out with Lopez Obrador, President-elect of Mexico, to ameliorate the refugee situation. Personally, I think we have plenty of room in this country to show mercy on the desperate folk who have fled their homes. Our Quaker organization, AFSC, is doing its best to bear witness and help out. Jezebal has an interview with Kathryn Johnson, AFSC Policy Advocacy Coordinator, who has spent time with the Caravan. She says "We saw very low incidences of violence within the caravan, despite it being a bunch of people who’d never met before. Probably lower than we see in DC every day." I don't think we need to fear these folks! Maybe you should go down and spend some time with them to quell your doubts.
The foster dog is now barking at the dogs who are playing outside. Now our other one has joined in. It is amazing how much noise a small dog can make. We can't live with the agitation much longer.
I hope you have a peaceful day,
RCA
