My dear Friend and president, DJT,

            Have you gotten over your jet lag? I haven't been to Japan. The farthest I've been in that direction is Hawaii. I'm sure I was tired when I got back. So, by my logic, you should be at least twice as tired since you traveled much more than twice the distance. But unlike me, you are ever-ready and will be swearing in Kimberly Reed as the Chairperson of the EXIM bank this afternoon. Impressive!

            I had not heard of the EXIM bank until today. Veronique de Rugy, writing in May 7's NYT, called it the "swampiest agency in town" because of its corporate welfare for Boeing, GE & Caterpillar. Yet, Eliz. Warren likes it, and so do you! I am thrilled to find something that the two of you agree on. According to Paul Kane, writing in May 9's WP, Mick Mulvaney is not a fan, and the GOP has been fighting about it for years. Who knew? Now that I do, I'll stay tuned to see what happens next.

            I'm worried about Loujain al-Hathloul. I'm sure you've heard about her. She's the Saudi feminist being tortured and held in solitary confinement because she wants to the freedom to drive. Please help me understand why you want to sell weapons to MBS while he's keeping her in jail. He's a confused man, and we don't want to be assisting confused men. We assisted Saddam Hussein in the 80's and that did not turn out well. Please reconsider your idea to use your "emergency powers" for this Saudi arms sale. It's just a bad idea in so many ways!
