My dear Friend and president, DJT,

            On this Memorial Day, I hope you'll reflect on the tragic cost of war. Please help John Bolton to understand that WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER. Maybe it's time find his replacement before he starts something that you regret. Even if I'm not his fan, I was sorry to hear KJU call him a "defective human product." No one deserves that.

            What was your impression of the new Emperor Naruhito (EN)? I hope he continues in his father's tradition of bringing a message of peace to Japan. I understand that his wife has struggled with mental health issues because she has not been able to bear a son.  Wouldn't it be great if EN bucked tradition and turned the throne over to his daughter when the time comes? 

            I am sorry to hear that you sold 100 F-35 fighter jets to SA. I'll bet EN is sorry about it, too. As I have told you before, I don't think Japan needs a big army. Just remember that they used planes to attack Pearl Harbor 78 years ago. SA might be your friend today, but his successor might hate your successor. Let's just sell them some steaks and hamburgers and call it a day.

            I have to cut this letter short so I can get out to my garden and put eggplants in the ground.

PS - According to the WP your Chinese tariffs "could fizzle fireworks." I and all the dogs in America would be thrilled to see the end of backyard pyrotechnics but I doubt that's the sentiment in the rest of the USA. You might want to consider a tariff waiver so Americans can enjoy their sparklers and bottle rockets at a reasonable price.
