My dear Friend and President, DJT,

We are so lucky! Today is a bright sunshiny day, and we live in a time of peace and prosperity. Please do all you can to maintain that peace. Former U.S.A.F. Gen. Victor Renuart, Jrthinks the best way to do that is to invest in diplomacy. He likens peace keeping to health care and believes that diplomacy is like good nutrition which prevents more invasive measures, like surgery. It's also cheaper and avoids bloodshed. I encourage you to listen to his advice.

I'm sure you'll have fun meeting the Scouts today. Don't you just love their new motto, "Scout Me In?"  I am curious about the girls that you'll be meeting today, especially Isabella Messer and Michalea Oakes. Isabella, age 10, started her own cub scout group and manages a profitable bee enterprise. Michaela found her confidence when climbing a mountain with her Sea Scout troop

I never knew that the Congress mandates that the Boy Scouts give a "Report to the Nation" about their activities every year. This year they are reporting on their "historic decision to begin welcoming girls into Cub Scouting." I wonder what my dear departed father, Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow, would think of that. He loved taking the boys on camping trips and his proudest day was when my brother won the pinewood derby. He enjoyed all the male bonding and I suspect he'd say that the girls have their own scouting organization. My daughter tells me that the gender binary is old school so maybe the two groups will merge and we can just have the "Scouts."

When you meet the scouts I hope they will recite their laws to you. "A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.” I encourage you to try to follow those laws especially the ones about being trustworthy and thrifty.

            Have a good one,
