My dear Friend and President, DJT,
Should I be alarmed??? One of the reasons that I write these letters is to avoid that sensation, but today I am putting the pieces together and wondering. I hope I’m just being paranoid. Bottom line, I worry you might be on your way to starting a war with China. Here’s why:
1) The stock market was down 4% last week. The WSJ is speculating on whether the “long bull run is over” and the positive effects of the tax cuts are wearing off. Presidents often resort to military conflict to boost the economy and distract the country from their anger over economic downturn. Those conditions may be falling into place.
2) Peter Navarro has been brain-washing you that China should be feared
3) Your administration just asked Canada to arrest Meng Wangzhou. As you know that would be like China having Jeff Bezos arrested while he was traveling through the Phillipines. Former deupty director of CIA, John McLaughlin, finds the timing of this arrest awfully strange when you are trying to iron out a trade deal with Xi Jingping. He thinks it’s eitherduplicitous or incompetent.
4) There’s no way that China can buy $1.2 trillion goods from us as Steve Mnuchin says they must. Last year they imported $188 billion. They can’t step up consumption over night.
I could go on but I’m scaring myself so I won’t. I hope that your new Chief of Staff, Nick Ayers, will help you see that keeping the peace is to your advantage. All those kids at the Army-Navy game yesterday are depending on you to avoid war at all costs. Please don’t let them down.
I hope your Christmas reception goes well tonight.
