My dear Friend and President, DJT,
The orange foster dog will be going to his new forever home today. I hope they can provide him with all of the stimulation and affection that he requires. who knew that so much energy could reside in a 10-pound body? We’ll miss him but it will be a lot calmer around here when he’s gone.
How was the Hanukah celebration yesterday? Was Nita M. Loweythere? I understand that some Holocaust survivors came to the early party and Andrew Pollack, dad of Meadow, Parkland shooting victim, came to the later party. I applaud your commitment to “confront anti-Semitism wherever it occurs.”
I hope your visit to the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Conference in Kansas City goes well. Don’t you think the name of that effort is a bit misleading? I think “gang buster” might be more appropriate. I was impressed to see that some of the grants involve practitioner-researcher partnerships but worried about the goal, “identify the offenders who are driving the violence in those areas.” That kind of thing leads to arresting innocent people. I was disappointed to see that CA is not getting some of the PSN $$ we were promised because we refuse to abide by federal statute (8 U.S.C. § 1373) that prohibits states and local jurisdictions from restricting the sharing of information regarding immigration status. Please send CA its fair share of that federal funding.
Did you see the op-ed in the Kansas City Star about your visit today? They say that a guy, who has a lawyer who admits to being a criminal and “erodes public confidence in the rule of law” by “criticizing federal appeals court judges,” is “precisely the wrong person to speak to law enforcement officials, lawyers, community leaders and others about violent crime.” I’m afraid I have to agree with them.
I hope your dinner with your Sr. staff goes well. Will it be John Kelly’s last meal with you? If so, I hope you show him your appreciation for his service to you.
Have a good one,
RCA
