My Dear Friend and President, DJT,
I am at Asilomar again with math teachers from all over No Cal. We’re here to share our enthusiasm for introducing students to numbers, shapes, variables and patterns and most of all, to the power of figuring things out. Did you like math in school? Did you get a chance to make sense of problems and persevere in solving them? Did you engage in discourse? Did you critique the reasoning of others? I know that your good at critiquing people! If you focused more on their reasoning rather than their appearance then you might be more popular.
Last night our keynote was about mindfulness and mathematics. Since our world is so stressful these days, our kids can’t concentrate. Math tends to make people anxious anyway so we need to devote some time to helping people calm down before we ask them to think. Lots of breathing and kindness might help.
I have no idea what you did or said in the past 15 hours because I have been off-line and I don’t know what your schedule is today. I will hope for the best,
Take care,
