DJT,
The radio tricked me this morning. I was enjoying my snooze, half listening to the radio and half dreaming, when the announcer declared it was 6:30. I bolted out of bed, threw on my robe and went to the kitchen to get my day started. Surprise - it was actually 5:30.
So now I'm wide awake at 6:21 having tried to read the Shreveport Times to learn about the "5 Things to do in Downtown Shreveport" and the Inquisitor's article "What President Trump's visit means to Northern LA." Alas, I decided not to take the survey that was required to get past the firewalls so all I know about your destination today is that there's a "boil advisory" in Bossier City because the water system has been compromised. It looks like this happens quite frequently so I hope that the candidates for governor have a plan for improving the water infrastructure in that part of the state.
Speaking of which, when are you and Elaine going to get busy with the transportation infrastructure? I'm flying into STL today and hope that the runways are in good shape. I understand that there is talk of privatizing STL. I'm not so sure that's a good idea.
How was your meeting with RTE yesterday? Cordial? What did he say when he gave you back that letter where you called him a "fool"? I understand that Sen. LOG gave RTE a hard time about attacking the Kurds, and Sen. Ted Cruz told him he wasn't going to get any F-35s if he accepted those Russian planes. Did Sen. Joni Ernst get a word in? She could use some good publicity because she's getting some heat for her wishy-washy responses to questions about the propriety of your asking a foreign power to investigate a political rival. As you know, she's up for re-election and the Iowa farmers aren't too happy these days, so she's walking a tight rope. I'm happy to see that she wants to keep the whistleblower's identity a secret. I do, too. I hope that RTE left the WH knowing that you don't call ALL the shots and that the Senate does have some power.
