My dear Friend and President, DJT,

            How did Halloween go for you? Were any of the folks at the WH dressed up? Yesterday, I wore mostly black; my colleague had a subtle witch's outfit and the Associate Dean had a cool unicorn headpiece. A few of the staff members were all in - make-up and costume. There was a potluck lunch with awards for door decorations. A brief diversion from work to maintain morale. I think you might need more of that kind of thing at the WH.

            I'm sure you'll get a boost from your rally in Topelo, MS, today. It sounds like the gubernatorial race there will be tight. Apparently neither of the candidates is very charismatic, and it sounds like they aren't too different on the issues. It's too bad that MS continues to be at the bottom of almost every indicator. Worst schools, worst roads, worst health care. I hope whoever becomes the next governor can improve things.

            Isn't it great that the Chicago teachers' strike ended? Do you have any idea when the GM strike will end? I wonder which labor group will strike next.
