My dear Friend and President, DJT,
Did you see Dave Barry's Review of 2018 in the WP today? He says that 2018 "boofed" in part, because we couldn't get over the 2016 election. Of course, you appear prominently in the piece, but he lampoons everyone. He takes a dig at Senators Feinstien and Grassley for "both having served in the Senate since shortly before the Big Bang." He pokes fun at Sen Schumer for writing legislation to legalize pot, and suggests that Broward County is "confused." It's a very funny piece. I encourage you to take a look. Laughing can be quite therapeutic.
If you want to read a ray of hope for the New Year, take a look at Christa Case Bryant's piece in the CSM. She describes all of the folks she met as she traveled around covering the mid-term elections. People all around the country are getting politically active and engaging their neighbors in talking about the issues in a civil fashion.
Have you heard about Sarah Silverman's efforts to reach out to folks she disagrees with? I just learned about them last night when listening to her talk to Alan Alda on his podcast, Clear+Vivid. He's trying hard to connect with people, which is tricky for him because, as you know, he's struggling with Parkinson's which I am sure is quite depressing. It's hard to reach out when you're depressed.
Are you ever depressed? I doubt it. It seems that you get mad rather than sad. I think that might be worse. Sarah believes you must have suffered terrible indignities as a child. Is that true? If so, some therapy might help. Meanwhile I will hold you in the Light and hope you can find some peace of mind or at least a few laughs.
Best,
